    Acrylics have come a long way from their inception in the 1940s.  Today acrylic mediums keep paint wet
    longer, create translucent glazes, build impastos, transfer photo images, bond mixed media to supports in
    interesting creative effects, and new on the scene, they also can be made into slabs of color to be cut,
    printed on, stretched and glued to create an entire new dimension in art.

    We will explore the traditional methods of applying acrylic paints to achieve traditional paintings
    reminiscent of watercolor & oil paintings.  We will then build layers (impasto) to create volume, faux
    effects, and textures.  Course is 4 - 6 weeks.
